Hiring and Selection Skill Development

It is estimated that a mis-hire costs an organization 150% of the salary of the mis-hire.  A consistent, targeted interviewing and selection process can reduce mis-hires significantly.

We provide on-site training to teach your managers/interviewers how to effectively interview and select “best fit” candidates.

We focus on behavioral-based interviewing skills.  How is this different from traditional interviewing?  Behavioral-based interviewing focuses on specific behaviors that are necessary for success in a specific job.  Using these behaviors, the right questions can be asked so valuable information can be gathered in the hiring process to make the best decision.

We train hiring managers on the selection process, necessary legal information and specific skills necessary to legally, efficiently and effectively hire the right candidates.

The curriculum includes:

  1. Pre and post-assessment quizzes to determine level of learning

  2. Necessary legal information

  3. Overview of Selection and Hiring System

  4. How to’s for:

    • Eliminating common interviewing errors

    • Determining Motivational Fit

    • Managing the Interview

    • Asking the right questions

    • Collecting effective information

    • Interviewing “practice” candidates

    • Making the decision with the information that you have

    • Collecting effective references

The interviewing training is ideally delivered 1.5 days including time for practice.
